Racehorse Market Strong At Blooded Horse

The Blooded Horse Sale Company just concluded the largest venue
in its 55 year history with 1144 horses changing hands. It was the
strongest November racehorse market ever with a 29% increase in
the number of horses selling for over $10,000.
Northfield Park Open Trotter Patio Pete topped the sale at $37,000.
Consigned by Nine Oaks Farm, the handsome bay son of Overcomer was
purchased by Peter Kleinhans to race at the Meadowlands this winter.
A trio of three year olds shared runner-up honors at $30,000 each.
Armbro Watchman, a stakes placed son of Jate Lobell was purchased
by Jenny Belcher to race in Ohio. Jack Turmonte took home Mr. Punch,
an Indiana Sires Stakes winning son of Pilgrim’s Punch, and
Jeff Fought got the nod for the good Ohio Sires Stakes filly, Sam’s
Magic Time.
Bidding was spirited for several other stars in the tough Ohio stakes
program. Bob Belcher signed the ticket for the two year old In The
Pocket pacing colt, Secret Harbor, for $26,000 while the three year
old trotter Call The Cops went with Brian Cross to New York on a
$25,000 bid. Another pair of competitive young Ohio bred trotters,
In The Know and Mysterious Caller were purchased respectively by
John Lare for $22,000 and Gary Daniels, as agent, for $21,000. The
solid conditioned trotter Incredibly Fast stays in Ohio on a $20,000
bid from James Schrack.
Whiteland Elegance, a sister to Kentucky Futurity winner, Whiteland
Janice, fit the elite mare category. Consigned by Hal Jones, the
barren daughter of Nearly Perfect brought $18,500 from Blue Ridge
Standardbreds. Troy Dobbins of Bryant, Alabama was pleased to get
the quadruple 1:55 producer, Lady Lafayette for $14,000 from the
Armstrong Bros. consignment.
