Striking Count Tops Blooded Horse Winter Sale

The 60th Annual Blooded Horse Winter Sale was held Wednesday, February 15, at the Champions Center in Springfield, OH. Once again Burke Racing Stable brought a nice consignment that included the sale topper, Striking Count. The four-year-old conditioned trotter was purchased by Cory Stratton of New York for $36,000. Other solid racehorses from the Burke consignment were the conditioned pacers Bet On Blake, who went to John Wagner of Virginia for $25,000 and Jacana who was purchased by Beachy Brothers Ltd. for $23,000.

Spring Haven Farm always brings a quality consignment, and this one was led by the young Uncle Peter mare, Pine Creek. In foal to the hot Indiana sire Dover Dan, she was purchased by Mahlon Miller of Ohio for $25,000.

Spring Haven Farm was also agent for one of the first offspring of Cattlewash to be sold at auction. Donnie Patterson of Tennessee got the nod at $14,000 for the young yearling colt.
