Dublins Chaos Tops Blooded Horse Summer Mixed Sale at $35,000
Springfield, Ohio —
Dublins Chaos, Hip 93, brought $35,000 to top the Blooded Horse Sales Summer Mixed Sale held August 26, 2026, at Champions Center Expo in Springfield, Ohio. Consigned by Dublin Valley Farms, the Ohio-eligible bay colt was purchased by Rosy Weaver of Beach City, Ohio.
By Slay out of Candelaria Deo, Dublins Chaos entered the ring from a family with established racing credentials. His catalog page identified him as being from the family of stakes performers including Spirit Ridge, Dominion Deo, High Glider, Hometown Honey, and Redington. He was offered as an Ohio-eligible young prospect.
Weaver made the winning bid, and the colt became the top-priced horse of the Summer Mixed Sale.
“He was a standout and looked the most athletic,” Weaver said. “I kinda like to buy a horse that can race at all levels, sire stakes or fairs. I’ve had a lot of luck picking at the Blooded Horse Sale in August. It never fails, the last three years I’ve bought the sale topper, but that tells me my taste is good because other people wanted them as well. They’ve done well for me.”
The second-highest reported sale of the day was Pocketfullofpebble, Hip 33, a Pebble Beach filly out of Sister Tothe Queen. Consigned by Walnut Valley Equine, Pocketfullofpebble brought $24,000 from Wayne Mast Jr. of Dundee, Ohio.
“I was basically looking to buy one or two yearlings,” Mast said after the sale. “That was my goal and I got that accomplished.”
Pocketfullofpebble stood out to Mast for the qualities a buyer can assess in person.
“I really liked the looks of her and thought I’d take a shot at her,” Mast said. “I liked her attitude. She looked alert, and I thought she stood okay conformation-wise. I really liked her pedigree.”
Mast also described the part of a sale that does not appear on a catalog page or in a results table.
“I look forward to looking at all the horses and meeting all the people you might only get to see once or twice a year,” he said. “It’s always a good time.”
Other leading reported prices included L T Legit, a Long Tom colt, at $22,000; Vivi’s Image, a Long Tom filly, at $20,000; and In High Country, an In Range mare, also at $20,000.
